Their Eyes Were Watching God, Chapter 4

"Long before the year was up, Janie noiced that her husband had stopped talkin in rhymes to her."(Hurston, 1937)

The man janie knew from before that loved her and cared for her alot changed since then and has been a little more strict with her. He is being more like a parent to her than a husband and she was noticing that. She wasn't seeing the man she married a while ago.

"Janie pulled back a long time ago because he did not represent sun-up and pollen and blooming trees, buth e spoke for far horizon."(Hurston, 1937)

Janie and her husband did not share the same thoughts at all. They both had completely different visions and were not always on the same page. Her husband doesn't look at nature the way she does. He sees a far horizon. She wishes he saw things the way she did on a daily basis.
